Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 18, 2026
This policy explains what data the Couragy app (“the app”, “we”, “us”) processes, why, and what your rights are. It applies to the Couragy app for iOS and Android and to this website.

The short version
- You don’t need an account. We don’t ask for your name, email or anything else about you.
- The questions you read and the cards you flip stay on your device. We don’t run a server and we don’t see how you use the decks.
- Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to confirm which decks you’ve unlocked.
- The free decks show ads from Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, personalised ads are only shown with your consent, and you can change that choice at any time.
Data we process
1. Purchases (RevenueCat)
When you open the app, RevenueCat Inc. (USA) assigns your installation a random, anonymous ID. When you buy or restore a deck, RevenueCat receives:
- that anonymous ID
- your purchase receipt from Apple or Google (product, price, date, transaction ID)
- technical data: device model, operating system version, app version, country/store, IP address
Why: to unlock the decks you paid for and to let you restore them on a new device.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Retention: as long as needed to provide your purchases, and as required by tax and accounting law.
We never receive your payment details. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free decks show an occasional ad card. Ads are provided by Google Ireland Limited (for users in the EEA and UK) or Google LLC (USA). Paid decks show no ads.
To serve and measure ads, Google may process:
- your device’s advertising identifier (on iOS only if you allow tracking, see below)
- IP address, device and operating system information, approximate location derived from the IP address
- information about the ads shown and whether you interacted with them
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Before any ad is requested, the app shows Google’s consent form (a certified consent management platform under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework). If you decline, you may still see non-personalised or limited ads, which do not use your data to build a profile.
Tracking permission on iOS. If you agree to the consent form, iOS then asks whether Couragy may track you across other companies’ apps and websites. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, your advertising identifier is not shared and ads are not personalised.
Legal basis: your consent for personalised ads and for storing or accessing information on your device (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Where non-personalised ads are shown without consent, our legitimate interest in funding the free decks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) applies, limited to what the law allows.
Changing your mind:
- Ad consent: in the app, open Settings → Ad Privacy Choices (shown where consent applies).
- Tracking on iOS: in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Couragy.

3. Data stored only on your device
The app stores your consent choices and a cached copy of your unlocked decks on your device. This data is not sent to us and is deleted when you delete the app.
4. This website
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). When you visit it, Vercel processes your IP address and standard request data (time, page requested, browser) in server logs to deliver the site and keep it secure. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Transfers outside the EU
RevenueCat, Google and Vercel may process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where the recipient is certified, and/or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal data.
- We don’t collect contacts, photos, precise location, health data or anything you say during a conversation.
- We don’t use analytics or crash-reporting tools.
Children
Couragy is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we’ll help remove it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected or deleted
- restrict or object to its processing
- receive it in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before
Because the app has no accounts, we can only find purchase data linked to your anonymous ID. If you contact us, we’ll explain how to locate it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the one where you live or the one responsible for us: [SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY FOR YOUR FEDERAL STATE].
Changes
If the app starts processing data differently, for example by adding accounts or new services, we’ll update this policy and the date at the top.
